I had a discussion with a number of students actually, both after class and as we walked to our cars. The question revolved around whether or not we enjoyed the gallery and why. Some of the students stated that it was really cool to have an open and accessible gallery, one that wasn’t too far away (given that CSULB is a large campus, it’s not a 15 minute walk, hurray!) Indeed, I personally went to the gallery before class even started to take a quick look. The gallery was set up in a professional and well-lit manner, typical of one you’d find in regular exhibitions. I personally enjoy having these sorts of places/opportunities on campus, because it makes the place more interesting and it gives you something to do if you have a break in between class. And additionally, some of the artworks are just fantastic. Well done CSULB art students!
